A terrific performance in front of an 8,800 strong away following. City were brave and controlled this game for long periods. Arsenal were short on ideas and behind on the counter after a nice finish from Murphy from a lovely through ball from Maddison. There were chances to put the game beyond Arsenal via Oliveira, Murphy and a glorious one for Vrancic but it stayed level until super sub Nketiah entered the fray. How Elneny stayed on when he pulled down Oliveira as the last man is unknown and Husband should`ve had a penalty in the final minutes. Big club favouritism? Probably not but it felt a bit like it. In a way it’s a good result. Still unbeaten in 90 mins, no one is disappointed and we were knocked out of the League Cup with heads held high. Plus no cup distraction so can concentrate on the league now.

Realistically with the likes of both Manchester clubs in the semis it’s the perfect way to get knocked out.
