City Looking At Defour?

City Looking At Defour?
TalkSport are carrying a story today that Norwich City are looking at an 'audacious' bid for Porto midfielder, Steven Defour.

Defour is 25 years old and a regular member of the Belgian national squad, having made 37 appearances.

He signed for Porto for around 6m in August 2011 and has been a big success. He is now supposedly valued at around 9m so wouldn't come cheap.

At least CH has the same ideas as we, the fans, do if he's looking at this type of player. CH has talked before about getting more for your money in Europe and from what I've read, the Portuguese League isn't awash with money.

The lad doesn't have a terrific goal scoring rate though with only three goals for Porto.

I expect that we'll be linked with everyone & anyone but this lad does sound quite classy.

To be honest, I don't know about Defour. I'm not sure where he'd fit in our line-up. Even if he did, I'm not sure I'd be willing to spend 9 million on him. I think center mid is one position we have a lot of depth at. We also have two starting outside mids. I think it would be better to look at a championship striker and winger if those are the gaps we see. We could get Jordan Rhodes for a third of that price and still have budget room to fill other gaps.
