City Closing In On Hooper?

TALKSPORT report this morning that Norwich City are closing in on the signing of Celtic`s prolific striker, Gary Hooper.

The report suggests that The Canaries have already held talks with Hooper, and also mentions that Chris Hughton is confident of getting his man.

If true, this would, in my opinion, be a great signing for Norwich City. I should point out though that on the day that Grant Holt signed his new contract last summer, TALKSPORT reported that Sunderland were favourites to sign him.

So don`t get down to the club shop and get your "HOOPER" shirt printed just yet.
More as the story develops…

10.40am update
As I said, don't get too carried away just yet. Chris Hughton is reported in the EDP as saying "No, that is not correct" when asked directly about a City bid for Hooper.

The story has now been picked up by the BBC as well but is there anything in it? Who knows? All we know is that, as usual, City are playing their cards very close to their chest...

Can't help wondering if it's all to do with a bigger contract, but then again I'm a cynic!

as a Spurs fan, all this talk of getting a new striker, whether it Hooper, Graham or whoever else. where do you see this leaving Harry Kane and his chances of playing? For me, he is a second striker as opposed to a Hooper/Holt No9, but do you see a striking addition meaning less chance for Harry and also what has your impression been of him in the few chances he has had with you?

Celtic would be idiots to let Hooper go mid CL campaign. And Hooper would be too. Realistically, when will he get that chance again..

kane has played about 15 mins v west ham in september and missed a sitter and again against west ham on new years day for 70 mins and did ok. Too little time on pitch to tell but if we sign another striker his chances of playing are slim. All in all an unlucky loan for both clubs and player.
