In-Form Vaughan Destroys Promotion Hopefuls

Whilst City struggle to hit the back of the net, with only 2 league goals scored in five league games, one team are flying at the top end of the Championship with 12 goals and only one defeat. Their manager described their joint top scorer as "rightly flying with confidence"; whereas our strikers are anything but.

The team? Huddersfield Town. The player? Our very own James Vaughan.

Vaughan scored the all-important second goal last night as Huddersfield destroyed one of the promotion favourites Blackpool, 3-1 in front of their own fans. Vaughan was lively throughout; powering home a header in first half injury time and also had two goals ruled out for offside. He has also scored against Ipswich this season, whilst also unluckily having a penalty saved against our one-time rivals.

Vaughan has clearly impressed whilst on loan at Huddersfield and it would appear their manager Simon Grayson is keen to make Vaughan`s move permanent in January.

"He`s strong, powerful and good in the air, and he was a constant threat for us against Blackpool." Some may argue that a strong, quick, confident striker is just what we`re missing.

"All he needed when we signed him in the summer was games under his belt. If he can have an injury-free season, he can be a major acquisition. Signing James in January is a possibility."

Hughton better have a replacement up his sleeve if Grayson does get his man.

Grayson can cool his heels - if CH sells Vaughan in January then CH better look for another job if we're still languishing around the bottom three and being turned into a laughing stock - Vaughan scored the pre-season goals and then gets shipped out - bad bad move CH and shouldn't have gone out without a recall clause - he's active and scoring, we're dead in the water - if CH lets Vaughan go he's lost me I would want him out.
Steve from Oz
Strong words Oz. However, I suspect you're not the only one with that view. It was an odd decision, as was loaning out Ayala in my view. Oh, and buying Bunn - that was odd too.
