Surman is Still a Believer

Andrew Surman has attempted to lift the mood today by saying that the players will go into every game believing they can win, and still retain their renowned positive attitude.

With upcoming matches against Newcastle, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Aston Villa, the fixture list looks very tough, but Surman remains positive.

"The performances are there and the positives are there", he said.

"We have some tough games coming up but people said that before the game at Spurs that they didn`t really expect to get anything from there.

"We will go into every game believing we can win it."

Meanwhile, Hughton has commented that Irish midfielder Wes Hoolahan is still very much in his plans.

The 30 year old attacking midfielder has only played 13 minutes for the canaries so far this season and was denied an opportunity to influence Saturday`s game with West Ham United as Hughton decided to not bring him on as a sub.

With the crowd chanting for Wes`s inclusion, the diminutive playmaker was sent to warm up, yet the City boss ignored the chants and decided to leave Wes on the bench.

When questioned on it Hughton said, "It has been a bit difficult. Even towards the end, I did want to bring Wes on, but the way they play and they`re a very strong, physical side, you`re mindful that you don`t want to get done (sic) from set-plays

"I was tempted to bring him on, but there are two sides to it. It`s been tough for Wes as he`s a very good player but I`m quite sure that if he continues to do what he is doing there is certainly scope for him to be involved."

Wes will be looking to feature in Sunday`s away trip to Newcastle.
