Javier Garrido Set to Join

Reports in the Italian press suggest that Javier Garrido, the former Manchester City left-back is set to join on loan.

Garrido played for Man City from 2007 until 2010.

Signed by Sven Goran Erikkson for around £2m, he lost his starting place first under Mark Hughes, and then under Roberto Mancini. He was sold to Lazio in the summer of 2010 with Aleksandar Kolarov going the other way.

27 year-old Garrido has played in the top flight in Spain, Italy and in England, and has nine Spanish under 21 caps.

His signing is expected to be announced imminently.

They were kind of my thoughts.. but we are also desperate for a left back. Not feeling the love for CH yet Mr. Green?

What a nice lad Garrido is, steady, takes a brilliant free kick, unfortunately when we had him, Barton was here and he took all the free kicks, thrown ins corners etc. Javier was be an asset to Norwich, he does lack pace and will never make a wing back, but will give you 100%

I agree with Buzz. Javier is definitely not a mercenary. He is an engaging young man who wants to play football. He'll never set the world alight but he won't let you down. If you can get Guidetti too, on loan you will be laughing.

Ive heard good things about him. A hard working defender who does what it says on the tin! Defends!!!! We all know that is what we are in need of. Interesting to watch Hoots in comparison to his predecessor. Ayala loaned out, Vaughn could be gone on the cheap soon too. We do of course have a well respected scout back on the books now. Regardless, it does appear that the new boss has a better tuned eye for the international market than he that came before. It is also clear, and actually heartening that the emphisis is on a major reduction in the goals conceded. Close season weve been firing blanks somewhat. But we know there are goals a plenty with in the side. So far so good me thinks!
