Whittaker Move On Hold

This afternoon it's been announced that international transfer clearance for the transfer of 5 ex-Rangers players has been refused.

Fifa are expected to grant temporary registrations while the world governing body rules on the matter.

Whittaker, along with Steven Naismith, Steve Davis, Kyle Lafferty and Jamie Ness have found new clubs since Rangers were placed into liquidation.

The players leaving have been advised by their union that they can do so as free agents. However the new owner Charles Green contests this view.

PFA Scotland are clear on the matter, with union chairman Tony Higgins last week saying: 'I haven't spoken to a single employment or sports solicitor who agrees with Mr Green's interpretation of the law.'

Fifa will ultimately rule on the matter, and are expected to grant permission in due course.

Are the players and their new respective clubs then at liberty to sue the new rangers club/board?

So Green acquires the assets of the former Rangers club for £5.5 million and now beleives this to include the player's registrations too? If he's right, then he's acquired Ibrox and Murray Park for diddly squat, the Adminstrator's have done a bad job, with the creditors being ripped off. Time will tell who's right and who's wrong
