Good Luck Adam Drury

Norwich City announced yesterday that club stalwart and Hall of Fame member, Adam Drury is to leave the club.

Drury will join Leeds United on a two-year contract, and will add considerable experience to Neil Warnock`s side.

One of the most consistent defenders of his generation, Drury enjoyed 3 promotions with the club, 2 relegations and a play-off final.

Although not a regular under Paul Lambert he still managed 16 appearances in the Premier League and performed admirably when Marc Tierney missed much of the 2nd half of the season with injury.

He will forever be remembered for the injury time goal in the 4-4 draw with Middlesborough in 2005. However he also did a fantastic job of keeping flying wingers such as Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon quiet last season.

Interestingly Neil Warnock inferred that Drury wasn`t offered a new contract by the club despite rumours to the contrary, "When you speak to him he`s full of enthusiasm and when you get released from a club you want to prove people wrong."

With Kyle Naughton back at Spurs, this leaves the perennially injured Marc Tierney as the only left back at the club, so we can expect new arrivals in that area soon.

Drury`s departure leaves Grant Holt and Wes Hoolahan as the only survivors from the opening game of the League One season back in 2009, with Russ Martin and Chris Martin as the only other current players to have played for us in League One.
