'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Talking Transfers

Well this post-season has been fun. Barely a day has passed by without something seemingly trying to chip away at the foundations. Pre-season`s got a lot to live up to.

Not to worry, June is just around the corner and the oiling of the revolving door will properly begin. The first few may begin trickling through, announcing their intention to join Lambert`s continuing of a fine job as of July 1st within the next few weeks.

One player on many a-fan`s shopping list is Kyle Naughton, which is a tricky one. We would be spending money from this season`s budget to bring our squad back up to last season`s standard. That wouldn`t have escaped McNally and co. I wouldn`t have thought, and given that we enquired about keeping him in January, we might just have a separate jar with his name on it. Win win all round, if we don`t sign him we have an extra few bob to stick on someone else. All hypothetical and hopeful, I know, and even if we don`t have a jar for him I`d still drop ol`Arry a line if he knows how to answer it.

Then there`s them other two; Pacheco and Lansbury. When they were announced to be playing for Drury I began limbering myself up for suffering the ensuing weeks of all and sundry clamouring for their return. And then, just to hurry along my preparations, a rumour surfaces that we have *already* been in contact with Liverpool about taking the little Spaniard`s services permanently.

There`s something about our club and not being able to let go of players, you can be the judge of that being good or bad. We even seem to get linked to the same names every window. I fully expect Linvoy Primus to be mentioned along with Snodgrass and Rhodes. Pacheco and Lansbury are players with good futures ahead, yes. They`d add to our squad, yes. They`re imperative? Not exactly. I`d take them if the deal was right, of course, as we all would. I wouldn`t break the bank for them though.

It`s certainly going to be an interesting summer, especially once names from outside The Circle begin to get bandied about. I don`t even know who I want us to sign this summer, but luckily for us Lambert appears to have a few in his sights.
