Things are Alright

Things are Alright
Yesterday was actually quite good. I got called a naughty word for making a joke at the expense of Simon Lappin on Twitter and the transfer deadline was a typically quiet one for us, but still a good one.

No-one in but three and a half out might sound a bit Everton, but the three out adds a bit more comfort to the wage bill and no-one in means Sir Paul is content with his squad of merry men. It could even mean that we, for the first time in many a-year, have a Plan B and possibly even C. A real one. One that`s actually been thought out. A plan. Marvellous.

Either that or our attempts to fill in the holes blown out of our squad were nothing more than futile and Lambert is currently flitting between pacing round his Carrow Road office and sitting rocking in the corner muttering to himself.

If we all believe it is the first one, then we`ll be alright. I promise.

The three and a half out has many positives too. The half, Adeyemi, is making his way up the ladder, getting bigger and stronger. Each rung should push him closer to realising the potential we had a glimpse of when he appeared in the first team and closer to the first team.

Stephen Hughes can now properly find a club to settle down with and flourish after his unlucky time at Carra. He`s clearly a classy player, but never he bed down enough here to muscle into contention. McNamee is free to go annoy MK Dons fans too, another talented player that, if cotton-wooled up enough to find some confidence, will further improve their world-beaters. And Cody has found a way out; he`ll score and may even push Coventry out of Championship anonymity.

The departures have trimmed our squad of players who won`t feature even if we suffer catastrophic injuries, trimmed our wage-bill and given them a chance to do their job again to the best of their ability.

When you think of the past few weeks, we`ve lost to Chelsea when a point was at least on offer, and drawn the others because of silly errors. And let`s not forget the window has been open since July, not 00.01 on the 31st of August.

With a bit of perspective, things are still alright.
