MyNCFC: Mike Carter
Next up in 'My NCFC', where we interview City fans and learn a little bit more about our fellow supporters, is MIKE CARTER...How did you become a City fan?
Through my Dad, he comes from Norfolk and supported Norwich as he grew up.What/when was your first game?
6th May 1994 v Oldham - we won 2-1.How many games do you get to?
Not as many as I'd like too. Managed to get to four last season, all at home but all wins against Swansea, Barnsley, Scunthorpe and the most memorable of the lot, Derby. What is your most memorable moment?
Simeon Jackson's 96th minute winner v Derby. I've never experienced a celebration like it! You could feel the relief and excitement from all sides of the ground when that went in.
But before last season it would have to be the King of Spain's last minute freekick v Luton in 2007 (I think).Which (if any) Norwich players have you met?
I've managed to meet Eadie, Gunn, Roberts and Dalglish through week long Football in the Community courses when I was younger.
Also managed to get the whole of last season's squad autographs (bar Mad Marc) but not sure if that counts as meeting them?Who is your favourite current player?
Other than Captain Fantastic i'd go for Russell Martin for his work rate. Both of them seem to give 110% for the team, especially Holt, putting himself about and just generally being a nuicance to the opposition. As someone once put it, Grant Holt is Big, Beefy and Bothersome!
As for Russell Martin, his determination to always want to win the games was key and this shone through against Derby when he made a couple of mazy runs in the dying minutes, and it was his shot which hit Jackson to send Fortress Carra bananas!Who is your favourite all-time player?
For me it's Darren Eadie. I always felt like I played like him being a winger but with less dodgy knees! It just seemed so easy for him to fly past players and as I was growing up, watching him, I was in total awe of this and wanted to be able to replicate whatever he did on the pitch.
Meeting him when I was about 7 or 8 was definitely the highlight of my early years and i'd still be starstruck today if i ever met him again! What are your hopes for the coming season?
Finishing 17th at the very least but with Sir Paul of Lambert at the helm, anything is possible. What is your all time Canary eleven?
I'm going for the conventional 3-3-4 formation here: Green, Malky, Fleming, Drury, Eadie, Huckerby, McVeigh, Ashton, Sutton, Roberts, Holt. What is the best thing about being a Norwich City supporter?
Being a family club with a great fanbase, great stadium and in a great city.If you could change one thing about the club, what would it be?
Making the ground bigger to fit more of the fantastic fans in. In an ideal world, i'd have preferred it if the Holiday Inn had not been built and therefore the club could have filled in the corner with extra seating, but as this is no longer possible the only other option is to redevelop the Geoffrey Watling Stand - although where the teams would change I have no idea, and where Delia and the rest of the directors would sit would also be an issue.Tell us YOUR story!
