My NCFC: Benni Cordy

My NCFC: Benni Cordy
Next up in 'My NCFC', where we interview City fans and learn a little bit more about our fellow supporters, is BENNI CORDY...

How did you become a City fan?

My Dad`s family are from Norfolk. After supporting Liverpool as a youngster I saw the light and followed NCFC.

What/when was your first game?

From Memory it was Norwich vs Swindon, I think it was 1993?

How many games do you get to?

Nowhere near enough! Last season was spent following NCFC on Twitter.

What is your most memorable moment?

Tough question. Being at the final game of the season to see us lift the league one trophy was pretty special.

Lee Croft`s goal against 1P5wich in 2008 will always stick in the memory. His shot came from nowhere, he looked as shocked as any of us as it swerved into the goal! It's the only time I`ve seen us beat Ipswich in the flesh, great memories.

Which (if any) Norwich players have you met?

I was very lucky to work for the club's press and PR team between 2006 and 2009 so I`ve met quiet a few. Drury, Dublin, Huckerby, Wes, Big Dave Strihavka, The Doc..the list goes on!

My job on press conference days and post match was to get players for interviews, not the easiest!

Who is your favourite current player?

I`d have to go for Wes, he is a really skilful player to watch and you get that injection of excitement that Hucks used to create during his glory days.

Who is your favourite all-time player?

For me it`s all about Eadie. I`m left footed so he was my City idol growing up. Still believe he was England`s answer on the left! his forced retirement was a sad day for football.

What are your hopes for the coming season?

Last season I said anything more than 50 points was a bonus, and look what happened! I honestly believe with Lambert at the helm we have a much better chance of staying up then last time.

I think we made an error of over-investing in older players in 2004. This time we have gone for young hungry players which is a much better way of going about it. I would however like one old head added to the summer signings please Mr Lambert.

What is your all time Canary eleven?

Really hard question. I`ll go for players that i've seen in the yellow and green shirt:

Keeper: Gunn
Defence: Drury, Malky, Dion Dublin (couldn`t leave him out!) Culverhouse
Midfield: Fox, Crook, Hoolahan, Eadie
Forwards: Big Iwan, Sutton

What is the best thing about being a Norwich City supporter?

I honestly believe that we are a great club, and what I like is most people (excluding our neighbours to the south) like us. We are known for being good fans and playing decent attractive football - what else could you ask for! I`m very proud to be a Canary.

If you could change one thing about the club, what would it be?

If I had to change one thing it would be to make Carrow Road that little bit bigger. I wouldn`t want to move away from NR1, but an extension to make it around 30,000 would be fantastic.
