No third striker then . Oli needs to get himself back amongst the goals and Srbeny needs to hit the ground running

The synic in me thinks it's not good enough but I will go along with the new strategy and desperately hope I am completely wrong about our ability to out perform the remainder of the championship sides that we play against the rest of the season and beyond.

With all the upheavals at the club this season
I have never considered playoffs a possibility
We are steadying the ship and heading in the right direction
With one caviat that we finish above the binners

Tofollo on his way to Millwall for nothing. His contract is up at the end of the season but why let him go for free now? surely he could command a fee?

Apparently, we will get some money once he reaches a certain amount of games.

Still, think he would be a better choice than Husband.

Don't understand why people are upset about Toffolo leaving - he got beaten out by a 19 year old rookie this summer, is constantly injured and at the age of 23 now the most games he's ever played in a season was 28 on loan at League Two Swindon - he hasn't been able to hold down a starting spot at League One/Two clubs on loan, so I don't know why people think he is good!

There was a good point made on Twitter I thought about that FA Youth Cup winning side of 2013 - based on comments from Webber about the academy, and from comments from players who have left its clear they just thought they would all make the first team once they won that competition, and as such their attitude was awful (as Webber has eluded too about changing the culture of the academy) - winning a competition against other U18's, doesn't actually make you a good player or mean you'll make it in professional football. Seems they didn't realise that.

On the transfer window - overall I thought it went well - we managed to get rid of a lot of our awful deadwood and bring in some youngsters, who actually want to play for the club. It's all part of the process, and I expect in the summer we'll see the overhaul continue and set us up for the future.

When you see awful players like Gary Madine going to Cardiff for £6 million, or Jordan Hugill to West Ham for £10 million, you can see why we're shopping abroad. Mad fees for average championship players at best!!

Olly, I wasn't upset about letting him go I was upset that we let him go for nothing. He still had some time left on his contract and could have commanded a fee.

I like how DF says that we have made money in these windows - is that him giving Webber a little nudge to say 'give me some'?

'It is so important right now we continue to plan for next season, we have earned so much money in the transfer window and Stuart Webber has done an outstanding job in these two transfer windows.'

DF did say that we have hardly any money for salaries and were never going to push for prem with that and also he says that because of these windows we can just enjoy another season in the championship. I wonder if other people at the club do think like us in terms of wanting investment and that we can't keep going like this.

'If you look at what other clubs can spend, in terms of transfer fees and salaries, then you don’t have to speak about promotion for us. But in the second half of this season, we have played six games so far and taken 13 points. That is a good average and we are in a brilliant shape. For now, we should just enjoy this and we can plan early for another season on this level. Anything else that comes on top is extra.'

He seems to be saying 'we are safe and if we lose a couple it isn't that bad'

'Now we have the 40 points we do not have to be concerned about relegation or what might happen if we were to lose two games in a row.'

I don't like hearing that we don't have to worry if we lose two games in a row.

DF continues about the recruitment.

Yes, we looked at the English market but when you discuss salaries and transfer fees you almost think we should keep Alex Pritchard, because we have to spend too much money on them.'
No surprise to me as English players do seem to be more expensive

'To bring in players with quality and good character without spending millions of pounds, you have to be creative. You go to Germany, go to Holland, go to Spain or go to the lower leagues in this country, like we did with Sean Raggett. He has adapted pretty quickly and it is the same with Ben Godfrey at Shrewsbury. When we speak about our recruitment and you lose a player like Alex Pritchard there is always a question, in my view, to start with the academy and ask is it possible to replace him with one of our own? When Alex was injured at the start of the season we didn’t bring in a new number 10. We trusted James Maddison. At left back we were a bit weak and we said we’ll wait for Jamal Lewis. That is always the best way.'

I am not too sure about that. Waiting a long time for a player to come back without getting in a good replacement.

'But I am not naïve. If you want to be successful you need that extra quality. Then it is not about the passport, but does it fit with the quality and is he desperate to play for Norwich? Not if they are from Barcelona or Dortmund or Newcastle. For me, it is not about the nationality. Christoph Zimmermann is the best example. He is more desperate to play for Norwich than a guy born in Newcastle. When we lose, Christoph is there with tears in his eyes and he identifies with the club.'

That must be a little dig at Murphy who is from Newcastle - otherwise, why say Newcastle? It is good to say but unfortunately DF it does matter about passport as we have to meet restrictions which the FA have set. Also, he seems to be saying 'we will look to the academy if someone is out' and maybe the quality isn't that great.

I just love your enthusiasm and optimism Olly
Get in that dressing room !
I’m convinced we are going in the right direction it may and probably will take another season
By then own admission this has been a far harder task than envisaged
We can’t change direction now it would be catastrophic I want Farke/Webber to stay for however long they feel the job needs to be done
Be Patient

Paddy says Wes testimonial is the end of next season and DF doesn't see him in his plans but hopefully, they will offer him another year deal to get the testimonial.

But they say that he is on a decent wage and DF might look to move on.

Wes loves it here and wants to stay. Give him a deal and offer to pay his coaching badges

We are not a charity and he doesn't deserve another year.

Players in the Championship / Premier League are well paid now and testimonials are not as important as they were decades ago.

Cardiff bid 2 million for Watkins and we rejected. I think because we have to keep british players.

Is this true? I would have taken the money!
