I don't know how many have read this article; it seemed to ring a bell.

http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter.com/2017/12/03/were-the-seeds-o...

It has echoes of points some have made on this forum.

That's basically the history as we all know it - but for me I wont let PL's success be the vehicle for our current demise as that gives energy to the demise continuing and stifles it stopping.
I wont give energy to this current bad situation by criticising, thats why I havent been saying much and anyhow as you get older you have enough frustrations with the body deteriorating, so I prefer to steer my energy to something positive even if it's hard to recognise and is only hope.
There's a couple of things that aren't it that article and that's the dressing room, the tactics, the nous, personalities, ageing that I also think have had an effect but are kept out of site.
Life is a series of ups and downs in every sphere, challenges and rewards, grief and happiness, hunger and satisfaction, bravery and contempt.
The one common thread running over this time is the board. But then its the same at other clubs as well as the opposite where change is regular, and out of 92 league teams most everyone isnt doing fantastically.
So, do we stop the worrying about what has been and what is and put energy into what we want?.
Norwich Vitals members are not short of recognising and bringing forward early and accurate opinions and diagnosis's over the years.
As a group and as individuals the mantra that we can make a difference both singularly and collectively lives.

Every now and then you come up with a gem, Steve.

As you know, I have been an optimist and part of the reason my posts have been sparse has been that I could find little meaningful positivity in my vocabulary.

The other as you say, revolves around health issues within the family.

My motivation for sharing this article was to see whether anyone could suggest a way out of our predicament, which has been going on a long time, without tearing our club apart.

There is still much about our club that should make us feel proud.

It's just that we are not winning enough games.

It is only natural to look back into a somewhat successful past when we can all see
that the hard work and to some extent fortune to achieve this rise does not come along
regularly and consequently has to be appreciated and held on to tightly.

Unfortunately the owners did not see the danger of throwing it all away and surrendered
tamely. Having been given another chance and getting back to premier league at the first attempt they did not learn a single thing from the previous failings and oversaw another unnecessary relegation. Whilst a vast percentage of the fans cheered this failure as the out of his depth manager and generally over the hill squad trooped around the pitch to milk the applause for their failings, the wiser fans braced themselves for another season in the championship
unlikely to repeat the feats of the previous 2. The board once again oversaw a season of failure
and decided to change their set up at least 2 seasons too late.

This has lead to a season so far resulting in abject failure and total lack of any form of entertainment. I appreciate as we get older and more infirm, thoughts are more about family and well being which despite Shankly's quote are more important than overpaid disloyal young men kicking a ball off target.
I have had health issues and serious family problems this year and am drifting towards the point where getting bored on a Saturday afternoon is not my priority and may well miss my first league home game for 10 years on 23 December because I have something better to do.

The overwhelming feeling coming from article is that the problems we have had for years stem from our Board and joint owners ....something that some of us on here can see and have believed for years . The article talks of a rudderless Board , and Dithering Delia , a woman who doesn't understand the ruthless world of modern football , and a woman who runs 'her' club like some sort of social club for her 'top table' family and friends . I agree with many of those sentiments and I believe our overall demise since the days in the 80s and 90s when we spent many years as a Top Division club, stem from the stewardship of our joint owners

Further thoughts - all the big clubs are building up to the Jan transfer window with 80, 100 million pound ideas for transfer budgets and we dont have one razoo, the manager still dreaming he has the best two forwards in the Champ even though they dont score on a regular basis with the underling strikers of our opposition having a top of 13 goals for this season, Grabban 11 Hooper 10, and both of our potent force having less than 6, Oliveira coming in at 37th on 5, Jerome at 146th on 1 being beaten by Josh Murphy on 3 at 75th position. This is Champ only goals not other mickey mouse cups
The octopus gave us a finishing spot 4th from bottom but well clear.
So no money, Webber saying its 2 -3 season plan, therefore I'm assuming that we wont spend in Jan and our languishing in the Champ is actually a designed outcome. So on track it seems.
Cant quite figure that out, as where's the philip for the money coming from to set the binoculars on the top 2 of the Champ in 2 years time. By which time 6 other clubs have got much richer, we're left farke behind. Dropped like a stone we have. What a web we weave. A bit of a balls up really from our point of view. No more hotels just cabins at the local farm watching the smithy.
If only we could charge for fouls, we're good at that, we might then keep a bit higher and win for joneseys sake. Oh how board we might get.

Do we all remember when in the Prem they all went off on a massive mega expensive holiday and piss up to Dubai ? I think a nice load of about 40 hangers-on went with them , all at our expense , while some fans on forums thought what good value it was if it helped us stay in the Prem . What an effing joke !

So I see Barnsley ----- Barnsley!!! have been bought out by a Chinese billionaire. He is also bringing along baseball pioneer Billy Beane (who has also helped AZ Alkmaar), as well as Multi-Millionaire investors Paul Conway, Grace Hung and Neerav Parekh.

I have been to Barnsley before and I don't see any appeal of it.

This billionaire was also looking at Middlesbrough, Hull City and Brentford.

I am sure that if we were looking to sell these guys would look at us and think 'yes please'. We would surely be more appealing than fucking Barnsley or Hull.

I just can't believe we are still owned by a poor millionaire (was that how she was classed). Typical of Norwich to be one of the only clubs who doesn't want to sell and help the club go forward.

I have repeatedly said that it will not be long before we are the poorest club in championship
which will lead to league 1.

Are we getting worse as every game goes on?

DF will hopefully be forced to change things during this period
