Twitter is a wash with tales of crown trouble at Sheffield. Anyone there with first hand experience?

On RN they said bottles and pictures show bottles on pitch around Gunn.

Rivers did an impersonation of a Yorkshireman and said they are stupid fans for doing it

So three Norwich fans attacked and South Yorkshire police have so far arrested two Norwich fans.

Outside the gates as we were walking to the coach there were some Norwich fans chanting/giving it large, and the Sheff Utd fans didn't take kindly and threw punches. It wasn't a mass brawl, but I'd say a dozen or so Utd fans got involved and it was tense for 10/15 minutes until the police finally got control

Why on earth you let away fans out straight into streams of home fans, is truly beyond me. But this is of course South Yorkshire Police, who don't exactly have the best track record with anything

Yep Bottles on pitch near Gunny, no £1 coins though tight Yorkshire pricks.
I am saying nothing about any aggro.!.! but a great win and day out!

There was certainly some violent behaviour straight after the match judging by the aftermath I walked past yesterday. A couple of NCFC supporters looked clean out and there was a fair amount of blood. Fortunately we lost one member of our group so hung around inside the ground not knowing what was unfolding outside. The South Yorkshire police have hardly covered themselves in glory allowing two sets of supporters to greet each other head on right outside the ground. I hate to think what it would have been like if the opponent's had been Leeds! It was a hostile atmosphere on and off the pitch so the police should have thought it through a bit more. Hope they are better prepared for the Sheffield derby next weekend.

I find it inconceivable given the nature of the game that post match incidents were not anticipated. With the throwing incidents and Wilders impetuous touchline dismissal surely someone should have been alert to what might follow. With the Hillsborough tragedy still making headlines I would have expected South Yorkshire police to have been extremely proactive in their crowd management. It simple didn't appear to be the case.

Sheff Utd fans can be a bit lively if they lose ! I was there in 1987 when we won 2-5 (Drinkell and Co,) and the Blades fans invaded their boardroom . The SY Plod then kept us in the away end for over an hour while the sorted the mess out that they shouldnt have allowed to happen in the first place !

Apparently the Police got it wrong and issued a correction.

We'll easy mistake to make. The accents being so similar. And a yellow shirt is so easy to confuse with of red and white stripes. Surprised Wilder didn't use the old colour clash excuse in his summing up.

Thanks Rex. I read the same article on my way back from Sheffield this evening. I have to confess to being slightly confused last night that no Sheff Utd supporters were arrested, but police there need to get a serious grip.

I hope that SUFC and the SY Plod find these Blades thugs , ban them from their ground , and the courts give them a hefty sentence so they sit and ponder on the fact that throwing fists on the streets of our country in not acceptable
