Glad I went today
Nice atmosphere and a great result
We really do need all hands on deck and another couple in to bulk the squad
Zimmerman outstanding and already a favourite with me but he's played every game and will no doubt play Tuesday, that can't go on..
Like others uneasy about Oli

Concerned about husband not being up to it
And the debate goes on and on about Jerome
I thought Farke got his tactics spot on today in a half where Fulham were threatening to overrun us we badly needed Jerome who hassled probed and held the ball up making space for others
Had our finishing been better we wouldn't have needed Olis goal but it's all been said before...

Just back myself after a long but fabulous day in London . Great pre match meet up and beers in the pub in Hammersmith .

A fair result today , but we were poor first half . But after the wreckage of the previous managers reign its a going to be a long way back , so I have patience with that .

Jerome is not a hold up merchant but is supposed to be our striker, and in that role he is pathetic . I am with Ollivera on this one ....Olly should be number 1 striker and not the joke that is Jerome . Farke needs to learn that the joker that is Jerome will fail us this season just like he did for the last two and start with Olly and bring another striker in

Agreed 100% YB. Good on Olly. Only what most of us were feeling when we saw the team sheet. A great last season, a great pre season, then benched for zero goals Jerome. What an insult. That being said, I want Jerome to start next game as its Swindon in cup and dont want to risk olly being injured!

Odd one Swindon. Who to play who to rest. Were very exposed on both flanks today.

Couldn't go to the match (boring story) so had to be content with sitting beside the radio and watching the highlights so comments will necessarily be limited.

I found it surprising that a pen was not awarded for the hand (arm?) ball. It was clearly arm to ball, the arm was in an unnatural position, the ball was on target so the intervention prevented a scoring opportunity. It smacks of home side advantage to me.

This one is less certain because I have only seen the highlights but, it seemed to me that their attacks on goal were a series of individual efforts. Whereas ours were derived from smart passing.

Wishful thinking? Those that saw the whole thing, what do you think?

I agree with comments that their goal was lucky/unlucky depending on your pov.

I was surprised by how much pace Watkins has. The thing is what is his best role?

He was up top, behind forward, on the right then left.

Paddy on edp has given some odd ratings.

Husband 6.5 and said decent debut good attacking.

Wildschut 6 poor on their goal.

Jerome 6.5 good support never got a good chance. Solid.

Gunn 6.5.

I would have given Gunn, Wildschut better ratings and jerome and husband lower, but hey ho

I wasn't there and only seen highlights but report from my mate who is an eternal pessimist was that it was a promising start - especially considering all the injuries we have. Said we looked good going forward, a bit dodgy at the back but Gunn looked good. The defence is going to take time, guys who've never played together before in a new system, isn't going to happen overnight. But going forward he said we looked sharp and Wildschut and Vrancic were quality. Those who went agree with him?

From the highlights I saw their goal was a lucky deflection and we missed quite a few good chances with Watkins. Did Reed play well?

From what I saw at the ground I think Franke and Zimmerman will be very good in defence . Husband was poor and got skinned all the time by that lad on loan from Chelsea . Reed had some nice touches but needs to get used to the pace of this league . Watkins and Vancric had solid debuts but produced some wayward finishing . Martin was his usual back passing self and dispite the Jerome love in with some , to me he was ineffective . Him and Martin still epitomise the catastrophic failures of the past 2 seasons . Gunn looked good in goal , and with Wes and Olli on we got the goal that Jerome would never have got .

LIke I have already said , I have got patience while the new look team beds in ,but that may change if Martin and Jerome keep playing . As can be seen by what happened after we scored shows that Jerome is now not only causing harm on the pitch with his non scoring but causing harm by his presence at the club . Get rid ASAP
