Honestly Olly , my heart bleeds for poor little Jacob with his short career , The poor little mite may only have about £100MILLION in his bank account by the time his career is over in 10 years time . Meanwhile back in the REAL world the rest of us cannot afford to take it easy and have to flog our guts out until we are in our late sixties , and will not earn in a LIFETIME what this guy will earn in a year at Newcastle . Lets not feel sorry for these guys please

Very disappointed with this news. Norwich city fc are back to sellimg our best players, a trait of the past chase era has reared its ugly head again. ok so he wanted to leave but what are contracts for, no, delia and co had seen rafa waving a wad and couldn't resist, the fans are still stuck with a handful of high earning losers. perhaps if they had treated Jacob and given him more games earlier and paid him as much as the others maybe he would want to stay but when he sees so so players on very high wagers (nonesmith) with lack of commitment, what do you expect imho.

I think I might have worded my post slightly incorrectly - obviously I don't think we should fee sorry for these for these guys on their wages, I just don't think it's the end of the world nor do I want him to fail simply because he's decided to choose a different career path that happens to be away from here. It's a shame yes, but I hope the kid succeeds. He'll always be one of our own

Agree Clwyd.
My youngest daughter is same age as Murphy and has just achieved a first class honours degree from the prestigious UAL CSM.
In order to achieve this she has worked as hard as you can ever imagine for the past 7 years and only yesterday learned she is having to go for a second interview for a job paying £ 8 per hour in London !

Compare this to thick as shit footballers who earn at least £ 20 k per week in championship
which over a period of say 15 years is over £ 15 million.
Short career is a load of bollox. They are greedy, disrespectful, poorly educated and in many cases short of morals. I hope this greedy young man of average talent with lack of work ethic on the pitch, falls flat on his face.

58 I said the same that maybe the way he was treated earlier in his career had something to do with it. It must have pissed him off seeing Redmond get picked every week no matter how many off days he had.

Still he owed it to the fans who have always backed him and his brother. Overall it's a kick in the teeth to the fans.

Surely rumours that josh wants to be close to his brother are kak. He can't go through life following his brothers career. They went on loan in different parts of the country.

Borough can piss off, unsettling players. We will just end up with German second tier players, Naismith, Jarvis and jerome at this rate!

Players rarey think they owe anything to us fans. To them it is a job and most of the time they lack loyalty. If you are offered more money at the age of 22, you will take it whether you think it is best for you or not. Personally I think this could be a disaster for him unless Newcastle do well in Prem. I am not a vindictive person, but I hope they massively arse this season up.

Jacob had the chance to really shine in our team this season. I hope Farke would've played him regularly, but now we will never know.

It will be absolutely hilarious if Newcastle get relegated and I hope they do.

I just wonder how this practice of loaning out our young talent costs in terms of loyalty. A a young man, when you get to play first team football on a regular basis, you get to know other members of the team really well; better than you know the stars of your parent club. You speak to the coach/manager rather more frequently than the twice a season you get at home.

Each time you develop an affinity with your loan club, your affinity with your parent club takes a hit.

Norwich have treated Jacob as a commodity and yet we expect loyalty because he's a bit good. We don't show loyalty to those who have served the team for years unless they retain their performance levels (Martin, Whittaker etc) so why should a young chap who thinks he is ready for PL hesitate a moment if he has the chance?

I would expect after 10 years of being taken in and trained some sort of loyalty.
I love football and hate footballers.

By the end of today he will probably be gone and forgotten . I only hope that ALL the money recieved for him goes into re-building the team , and we buy the defender and striker we need
