That is the question I received by text from a fellow pre match drinking season ticket holder today.

I had been told by a very good source a few weeks ago that
AN was not going to sign any expensive signings and generally stick
by what he had. If so is it his fault ?

The board ( and I have made no secret over the years that I do not think they are up to the job especially in premier league ) have made the same mistakes over and over again and the apparent lack of funds for good players appears to be happening again.

My main concern after Wembley was that AN would not be able to attract very good quality players or in fact trust them to become one of the hard working tight squad.
This appears to be the case. He has added 2 very average players rejected by Pulis and then expects them to be hard working !!!
I bet they cannot believe their luck. Rejected by wba and then signing for a premier league club with wages to match.
These signings together with Andreu makes me very worried that AN
only wants hard working bog standard midfielders.
Where are the defenders and why not sell strikers and bring one in
who can score 10 to 15 next season.

So where does the board come into it. They are happy to milk Wembley, take the sky money, ST money and sell the remainder of tickets at top prices.
I am aware that everything goes up to suit a premier league set up,
wages, staff etc BUT lets not forget they are taking in a lot of money.
So if AN really wants Brady then why embarrass us all by taking weeks to get to a realistic offer and then reach a stale mate.

17 days to go and no players sold and a total outlay of £ 3 million
wasted on dorrans.
I said 6 weeks ago that when this £ 3 million was wasted on a player we all know is bang average in a position we are more than covered
that it would be about the amount we would be short of haggling for a
player that AN would really want. It has proved to be the case.

Do not tell me it is early days. The squad is on tour and when they return have just 2 weeks to the first game.
All other clubs have identified weaknesses and bought good players to resolve their issues. We have not.
Why would a player wanting to move do all pre season with another club, tour with them and move just before first game ?

I am sure AN has identified the players he wants and maybe incorrectly thought dorrans was spare change so wasted that
£ 3 million and now the board are taking premier league income and
looking to spend championship outlay.
The result is that we have a championship squad and without 3 new very good players in key positions will have a championship squad next season in a division to match.

I don't believe that players don't want to come to Norwich .They all want to play in the Prem , and all know what a large and loyal fan base we have . If that's the case then it's either the manager or the Board . I believe the AN wants success and doesn't want a relegation on his CV . That leaves the Board , who are either so blind and so stupid as to what's coming up ( despite sitting there watching defeat after defeat 2 seasons ago) , or are so clueless in how to take our club forwards that they just don't what to do the PL transfer market .

As day after day goes by without improvements to a team that couldn't even finish in the top two in a very ordinary Championship , I become increasingly worried that the story of the 2013/4 season may well be repeated this season . It's time to wake up NC and learn your lessons from the past

The BBC Premier league web site today has an article on every team in the Prem other than Norwich - the only one with no news whatsoever. Talk about being in the wilderness - shag out on a rock still prevelent for us - little o' Norwich syndrome alive, well, kicking and buried

bbc does have a bit at bottom of web site for each club and our most recent news is the loaning of carlton morris to Hamilton as that is what we have achieved over past 2 weeks

Norwich do not talk about pending deals, mostly.

That is alright if we get good to brilliant signings in the end. However, what has happened in the past is that there has been few or no headline signings while others have managed to pull off some remarkable deals; I still look with envy at the way Southampton was able to sell excellent players at a profit and then get even better ones at bargain prices. They then went on to climb the table while we were relegated.

On the other hand, I share some of your reservations about our current signings with the caveat that some previously underwhelming buys have turned out goodish, while the RVWs of this world have been a massive disappointment.

Let us hope that a whole new defence and 30 goal striker are in the pipeline.

It is becoming more than urgent . Are our Board really prepared to endanger our whole future by not ensuring we give ourselves the very best chance of staying up ? With a majority of half senile dodderers in charge , it is beginning to look that way . We cannot rely on AN keeping working miracles within a group of ordinary lads .According to Pink Un news he has been flogging them in Germany to get the last ounce of effort of the squad . Nothing wrong in that I guess , but it's a bit like a taxi firm manager asking his driver to keep flogging an old car instead of buying a powerful new one . What a way to run a club .

Get a move on Norwich and keep us in the Prem

Talking about pending deals rarely happens until they are imminent.

Of our 2 signings to date... we know dorrans is crap so there will be no surprises. In championship he was not good enough so he will be even more ineffective at a higher level.
As for columbo he will not surprise as he is a bog standard holding player without pace, We have enough of those already.

I hope you are right Rex but as you indicated the players we want
with enough ability at reasonable fees are not in abundance and whilst out board sit with blankets over their knees drinking cocoa they are all being signed up. There are none left !!!

It is a joke - I think our new head of recruitment must take some blame too - that is his job to go out and get the players identified (I am guessing as McNally is sunning it up in Germany), but as Burnley fans said he was useless. What the hell are our scouts doing if rumoured we are looking at Barry Bannan, Alonso, Murray et al?

I think AN is a loyal person and doesn't want to rock the boat - he knows these players and is willing to go with them. As I said before why release Garrido, Bunn then loan out Matthews if you have no replacement lined up - it just stinks of poor planning. McNally has said no players will be sold until new players come in. I just worry we have a few players who are just about championship standard in our squad? I am sure the had a plan A and B (depending on the play off outcome) so who was on list for plan A? Dorrans and Mulumbo and who was on plan B list -- dorrans and mulumbo probably.

someone said on the pink un convo yesterday we not worry as our squad was already premiership class before we came up?? Really?? I don't think so - I'd say maybe 4/5 are good enough for the premiership - Howson, Johnson, Redmond, Tettey, Ruddy and maybe with development Murphy and that is it - I think a few are good Championship players - Jerome, Hooper, Wes, Grabban, E.Bennett, O'Neil, Bassong, Olsson, R. Martin and other just about championship standard Whittaker, Turner, Dorrans, Lafferty.

Also I think AN needs to get out of the championship idea - Johnson on the left wing will not work in the premiership.

I am negative today, but they are just my opinions.

that's not being negative Bears ,that is recognising the problems and having the desire to do something about it - Unlike our Board . I couldn't agree more that not even half of our first 11 are not Premier standard , although I do think Jerome will be ok back in the Prem

AN doesn't worry me , but the whole scouting system at the club and the lack of action from the Board are starting to worry me greatly .Like so many other fans I spent a fortune last season doing what I could to go and support the team up and down the country and help them into the PL ,and I don't want to see that thrown away twice in 3 years . Even if we fans could forgive this Board for the totally unnecessary relegation 2 seasons ago , I could never forgive them if they went and made the same mistakes again .

Do they really care ? I hear nothing from the Smiths and I see Fry pissing about on TV like a senile old fart and milking the glory at Wembley ,but I don't see any action from these people .

Prove me wrong Board . I would like nothing more than to be told I got it totally wrong

I see Mr Fry a lot around where I work.

I am sure when McNally came to us he was a tough business man and never took crap, but now he seems like a wimp and just a puppet for the board.

Being part of the premier league means paying over the odds,i just don't think NCFC want to play that game but what they fail to realise is it's a case of can they afford not to ? Speculate to accumulate has to be the way or we will be back in the champ busting our balls trying to get back up and probably without AN.

agreed yoda.
what a let down so far. most money ever and less spent han we have done for years. I would love to know what the budget is.
Bearing in mind mc no balls got a million for overseeing relegation he must have got most of the £ 130 million for fluking us back up.

Has anyone from Norwich actually come out and say we are after him?

Or, is this just poor reporting?
