Just heard on talk sport that rooney is looking at a new contract at man ure said to be worth £ 300,000 a week.
If true that is obscene. Its no wonder that many footballers do not give a monkeys about the team they play for, its all about the money.
If someone earning a minimum wage of £ 6.31 per hour working 23 hours a week, for a working life of 40 years, Rooney would appear to earn more than a lifetime of those wages in 7 days.

This is the reason why I will eventually stop going to football.

If those statistics are correct, then that is obscene and wrong. Sky and clubs are to blame.

I read yesterday that Man U had put aside £6.5m to pay his wages . Obscene is putting it mildly . Thats why I will not pay high ticket prices to help pay the crazy wages of these footballers

Just been to a High School to look at a project where they need
£ 300 k to make graphics / resistant materials facilities safe and updated as machinery has been there since built in late 50 's.
A subject close to my heart and have donated my time free to help them bid for this money and the chances of getting it are slim to none. I listened to talk sport on the way there and heard this figure mentioned again regarding Rooney's weekly wage and am appalled that such a moronic thug will earn more in a week than it will take to transform a building to learn future trades for hundreds of children.

I wonder if he pays his taxes or does he use one of these tax avoidance schemes.
It makes me laugh when you read about ex players 'problems' when they get paid such a ridiculous amount each week.
They do not live in the real world.
He's not even that good.
I wonder how much Mata is on now?

Shearer in a paper column said ' This is great news for everyone in the country '. . Are you dancing in the streets at Rooney obscene wages while the rest of us do without ?

I must confess to feeding the dragon.

1. I have a season ticket for the club I support

2. I pay for Sky Sports

3. I pay for BT broadband and indirectly pay for BT Sports

4. I go to away matches and pay the exorbitant prices for the privilege.

5. I have bought and continue to buy replica kit for myself and members of my family even though my football skills would not qualify me for the over ninety's walking football squad. Even on the bench.

6. I come on football fan forums and prattle on with my complete lack of understanding of the beautiful game. Enduring abuse from those equally inept folk who think they know better and in the process encourage others to spend their non-existent tax credits to follow the game

So, you see? It is all my fault.

Sorry

£20,000 per week will get you £1 million per year.

Plenty enough for a footballer.

Over a 5 year period on £300k per week - Rooney is looking at £78,000,000

Now that really is obscene

I must confess that I try to do what I can to not feed the dragon

1. I do not have a season ticket for the club I support

2. I refuse to pay for Sky Sports

3 . I have always had BT broadband long before BT Sports

4. I go to aways with the cheapest ticket prices

5. I have bought and continue to buy old replica tops from E-Bay and dont pay over a fiver for one

6. I come onto football forums and talk rubbish for 90% of the time.

so you see ....its not my fault !!!
