Maddison In Team Of The Week

Maddison In Team Of The Week

James Maddison has been selected in the Football League Team Of The Week.

That isn`t a surprise after his performance on Saturday when he scored the first hat trick of his career, in the first half at Hull and still ended up on the losing side.

That was the first hat trick scored away from home by a Norwich player since Efan Ekoku in 1993. It was also the first hat trick scored in the first half by a Canary since Ted McDougall against Everton at Carrow Road in 1975 and it was the first ever Canary hat trick in the first half of an away game.

Nice work, James.

We all know what sort of impact the lad has had this season and his future looks so bright you`re going to need your Ray Bans to follow it. The chances of him staying at Carrow Road beyond the summer appear slim and none, so we must enjoy him while he`s here.

Two of his goals on Saturday were penalties which were dispatched with aplomb and the second spot kick was the hat trick opportunity, no pressure there then.

It`s the second goal that you need to watch to see his ability for what it is though.

He`s cut inside and then cut back, putting the full back on his backside before firing a fierce left footed shot past the flailing David Marshall.

I have to say, that if it wasn`t for Madders then this season could`ve been very different.

Full Team Of The Week:

Lee Burge (Coventry City), Joe Bennett (Cardiff City), James Chester (Aston Villa), Sam Habergham (Lincoln City), Alex Rodman (Shrewsbury Town), Lee Martin (Gillingham), James Maddison (Norwich City), Bradley Dack (Blackburn Rovers), Aleksandar Mitrovic (Fulham), Jack Marriott (Peterborough United), Mohamed Eisa (Cheltenham Town).

Manager - Keith Hill (Rochdale).
