Norwich v Bolton

Norwich v Bolton

Timm Klose could miss the visit of Bolton Wanderers to Carrow Road on Saturday due to a hamstring injury.

Speaking at his usual pre-match presser at Colney on Friday lunchtime, Daniel Farke spoke with the assembled media about Bolton and how they are "a different task" rather than an easier one than Wolves.

With regard to Klose though, he will be a late call as to whether he can play or not. That suggests that his injury isn`t terribly bad, probably just the result of playing twice in three days and perhaps a third game in six days wouldn`t be a good idea.

If Klose doesn`t make it, Farke suggested that either Sean Raggett or Alex Tettey could play in the centre or he could change the formation. A change seems the most likely outcome to me if Klose doesn`t make it because it might be a bit soon to throw Raggett into Championship football and Tettey would be better placed in midfield.

Farke emphasised that the squad work on several different formations.

Ivo Pinto is back in the squad, although 20-30 minutes from the bench might be all he is capable of, having missed a lot of football of late and with Harrison Reed doing well at right back, there`s no need to rush him back.

Interestingly, both Wes Hoolahan and Marcus Edwards were mentioned by Farke as being available and in his thoughts. I suspect much will depend on the fitness of Moritz Leitner and Mario Vrancic, who were both described by Farke as being very tired but have had ice baths to help "recreate."

Assuming Leitner makes it then he will play with either Vrancic or Tettey, depending on the formation. If neither Moritz or Mario can start then that could open the door for Hoolahan or Edwards to play as a number 10 with posssibly, James Maddison dropping a little deeper.

There`s also Onel Hernandez, Josh Murphy and Marley Watkins to consider in the attacking positions. There are a lot of "ifs and buts" here aren`t there? The positive thing is that Farke does have a lot of options from which to choose.

Bolton are still in a relegation scrap but have picked up a few points of late, so will be a difficult proposition. I wouldn`t expect them to be all gung ho, rather that they`ll probably come and look to keep things tight in the early stages and then see how the game unfolds.

They will be physical and determined not to concede the first goal, which as ever, is oh so important in any game.

Norwich are an improving side at the moment as the manner of the last three draws should underline. The play offs are something to aim for, rather than a real target but make no mistake, every player in the City dressing room will have one eye on everyone else`s results at 5 o`clock on Saturday afternoon.

They just need to make sure they take care of their own first.
