Wolves v Norwich

Wolves v Norwich

Norwich City need to back up the good feeling created after the last gasp equaliser against Ipswich on Sunday as they travel to Championship leaders Wolves on Wednesday night (7.45pm).

Wolves have taken the league by storm this season and have been a shoe in for promotion since about November. The way they have played has been exceptional and if I cast my mind back to last autumn's 0-2 defeat against them at Carrow Road, I can't think of many team's that have been so far ahead of Norwich in any particular game.

Norwich huffed and puffed on that occasion but struggled to really threaten too much against a polished Wolves side. This time, it will need to be different if we are to get anything out of what looks, on paper, to be a very tough match.

It will of course see the Canaries reunited with two old friends in the shape of John Ruddy and Ryan Bennett.

Both men were let go last summer due to needing to trim the wage bill and both are now integral parts of a rock solid defence that is doing it's bit to take Wolves to the Premier League.

In terms of Norwich though, Daniel Farke reported that he has no injury worries after Sunday's derby game.

Both Moritz Leitner and Timm Klose have shrugged off calf injuries and will be available for this game.

The other new boys, Onel Hernandez and Dennis Srbeny have been confined to late cameo appearances so far and both will no doubt be chomping at the bit to make their first start for their new club.

Jacob Murphy was muscled out of the game on Sunday but we hardly played to his strengths. There were very few balls over the top or into the channels, forcing Murphy into a physical battle he was never going to win.

Having seen that and with Bolton at Carrow Road on Saturday, I wonder if Daniel Farke will make a couple of changes with that in mind?

I doubt Nelson Oliveira's place is at risk but Murphy could see himself drop to the bench for the exciting looking Hernandez to make his full debut.

Ivo Pinto is back fit and I reckon he'll be back in the side at Molineux. Harrison Reed was put under severe pressure by Dominic Iorfa on Sunday, with the Ipswich players actively looking to play long balls to Iorfa, knowing he was up against a much smaller man.

Hopefully Alex Tettey's knees will be up to playing again so soon in the centre alongside Leitner.

Other than those two potential changes, I'm not expecting too much tinkering with a team that has shown it can be a handful away from home - more so than at home.

This will be a tough game no doubt, but Farke is confident that his team have improved greatly, compared to the last time the two sides met but the acid test will be what happens after 90 minutes.

You can check out what Daniel Farke and Grant Hanley told the media on Tuesday lunchtime on Twitter @NorwichCityFC

Before I go, I thought you might like one more reminder of Sunday and the wonderful moment on 95 minutes...
