Derby v Norwich Team News
Tom Trybull will miss at least ten weeks and could miss the rest of the season, Daniel Farke told the assembled media at Colney on Friday
Super Tom scored the winner against Middlesbrough last week, signed a long term contract and suffered knee and ankle ligament damage last Saturday.
The loss of Trybull is a big blow but as ever will offer opportunities for others to fill his place. Mario Vrancic and if his 30 minute cameo is anything to go by, Moritz Leitner will benefit, I`d say.
"It`s not good news [regarding Tom]," Farke said. "He has a partial PCL rupture (knee), MCL strain (knee) and an ATFL rupture (ankle).
"Realistically, he won`t be able to return until the end of the season. We have a little bit of hope because there is no need for an operation and Tom is able to recreate (I think he means recover) pretty soon after injury.
"We hope to have him back at the end of April so we could have him for the last few games.
"Sometimes you have to accept injuries happen. It is a contact injury so you can`t do too much about it. I wouldn`t want to tell my players to avoid duels with other players."
Ivo Pinto is back fit but only trained fully for the first time on Wednesday, after two weeks out. Harrison Reed looks set to fill in at right back again, with Pinto on the bench. That will mean one of Vrancic or Leitner to partner Alex Tettey in the middle.
James Maddison (dead leg) is fully fit and ready to go, which is always nice to hear.
Derby are gunning for automatic promotion, so this will be a tough game, as they all are, fingers crossed that the sale of Cameron Jerome to the Rams doesn`t come back to haunt us.
It`d be typical for him to suddenly find his shooting boots!
