Norwich City Complete Transfer Business
There will be no more transfer business this month at Carrow Road, Norwich City have announced
It`s been a rather busy month for both outgoings and the resulting new signings but four hours before the 11pm deadline, the club were kind enough to let the Canary nation know that "that`s all folks!"
That means that James Maddison will remain a Norwich City player for at least the rest of the season, which is very good news.
"We`re really pleased with our business in the transfer window," Sporting Director Stuart Webber told canaries.co.uk. "Obviously you never want to see good players leave, but we feel that we`ve secured good deals for the Club that have allowed us to strengthen in key areas.
"We`ve reduced the average age of the squad, reduced the wage bill and brought in some real quality. We were pleased to get business done early, with players ready for our matchday squad, and it`s good that Marcus Edwards has been in team training this week.
"We had options A, B and C for all eventualities and our business shows that as well as bringing in quality for now, we`re also thinking of the future.
"The signing of Kenny McLean shows we already have one eye on the summer, while we`ve secured really good loans for Todd Cantwell, Adam Phillips, Remi Matthews and Ben Godfrey in order to get our good young players experience of senior football."
I`ll write a few thoughts about Norwich City`s Transfer Window tomorrow but my initial feeling is that it`s been pretty good. Losing Alex Pritchard is the only really big disappointment for me but he`s been replaced, at least in the short term, by Moritz Leitner.
Enjoy your evening,
