Norwich In Hernandez Negotiations
Norwich City are in ongoing negotiations with Eintracht Braunschweig over the transfer of winger Onel Hernandez.
The Bundesliga 2 club are set to face Heidenheim tomorrow night but Hernandez will not be in the squad as it seems he has told Eintracht that his head isn`t right to play.
This has all come about in a pre-match press conference during which there are several quotes attributed to Sporting Director, Marc Arnold. Here`s a Google translation of the section printed about Hernandez by Unser38.de
"In Heidenheim Onel Hernandez, who is now looking for a change to Norwich City and apparently will not run in the Eintracht jersey will not be in the game.
'He told us that he is currently unable to access his performance and therefore plays no role in the Heidenheim game,' said Marc Arnold, who is in transfer negotiations with Norwich."
A couple of days ago, I read a report in the German media in which an Eintracht Braunschweig Official was quoted as saying there had been no bid for Hernandez from Norwich, that`s despite The Sun reporting at the weekend that City had made a £1.7m bid for him.
The player himself now sounds as though he`s doing that classic footballer thing of saying his "head isn`t right to play" because he wants to move clubs. Jonny Howson did it last summer and it`s infuriating when one of your players does it, let`s hope that these negotiations can lead to something.
Hernandez has made 17 appearances this season, scoring once and providing two assists - not exactly awe inspiring but we need bodies in through the door and there seems no alternative but to trust Daniel Farke`s judgment.
