Confusion Over Grant Holt`s Future At Kings Lynn

Confusion Over Grant Holt`s Future At Kings Lynn

Kings Lynn have announced this evening that former Norwich City striker, Grant Holt has left The Walks to take up a position at Barrow AFC as player/coach.

The only problem is that the Vanarama National League side have released their own statement in which they say no deal has yet been agreed.

It was only last month that Holt and fellow former Canary, Simon Lappin were announced as Kings Lynn players in a double move that was easily the most ambitious in the club`s history.

Linnets` Chairman Steve Cleeve said on Saturday that Holt had agreed to a move to Barrow AFC to become a player/coach there, as reported by KLfm

'We had a phone call from Barrow on Monday to say that Grant`s agent had done a deal with Barrow as a player coach, I`m upset to see Grant leave the football club, I`m shocked more than anything at the moment as I`m yet to speak to him.

"I wanted Grant to stay at the football club, I`m deeply upset, It`s a blow to the town and the football club."

However, in response to Lynn`s statement, Barrow AFC have released their own statement denying that any such deal has yet been agreed:

'Conversations have taken place between our manager Ady Pennock and the Kings Lynn management team, as well as at board room level.

'However, no terms have been agreed and no deal has been signed for him to join us.

'We look forward to speaking to Grant at the end of the mandatory notice period.'

It certainly looks like Holty`s days at Lynn are numbered.
