Outrage At Disgusting Tweet From Ipswich Fans

Outrage At Disgusting Tweet From Ipswich Fans

In the build up to Sunday`s first East Anglian derby of the season, there has been plenty of "banter" between fans on both sides.

The week before a game is always a interesting, to say the least but this time, a line has been crossed by some young looking Ipswich fans, who have caused outrage on Twitter with a highly offensive tweet about former City striker, Justin Fashanu.

Justin was the first openly gay professional footballer in the English game and tragically took his own life. He was found hanged in 1998 at the age of just 37.

Twitter user Finn @finn_tonnar tweeted the following on Thursday:

"This year for Halloween we`re going as Fashanu #ITFC"

The tweet featured a smiling emoji with a photo of three young idiots and a cartoon picture of three skeletons with nooses around their necks.

As I say, someone always crosses the line.

The matter has been reported via Twitter to both Suffolk and Norfolk Police and the tweet has been removed and account deleted as a result of the backlash from fans on both sides.

The tweet was also brought to the attention of Ipswich Town who responded on their own Twitter account as follows: "Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I will forward this to the relevant people. We do not condone this sort of thing in any way."

Dear oh dear oh dear.

Absolutely pathetic.

Let`s hope the Police take action and prosecute these tools.

It's vile and highly distasteful, but not particularly just a football issue. Hateful trolls are a rapidly growing sub culture throughout social media. Just another graphic indication of depraved depths society is sinking to.

Agree bro. Rising income and technological advancements meant increased sense of self entitlement, poorer human interaction, and lack of proper respect. Young punks who had it easy and didn’t realise or understand the magnitude of their actions.
