Boro v Norwich Team News

Norwich City face Middlesbrough on Tuesday night at the Riverside Stadium in a tough looking game.

Ahead of that, Canary Head Coach, Daniel Farke spoke to the media on Monday lunchtime and generally, the news is not good.

In terms of the players unavailable, Mario Vrancic and Marco Stiepermann (both calf injuries) are struggling.

Stiepermann has been excellent since replacing James Husband at left back and will be a big loss if he isn't available to face 'Boro. Vrancic has been definitely ruled out but that's not the end of it.

Wes Hoolahan has a swollen knee but fortunately, after a scan, it's nothing long term. If he trains with the squad in the final session before the trip to the North East, he will travel - fingers crossed.

Russell Martin is currently playing for the U23s against Reading, as I write but Steven Naismith is still out with groin trouble.

So that's the bad news, the good news surrounds Nelson Oliveira, who according to Farke, stands a chance of travelling with the squad if he can play a full part in Monday afternoon's training session.

Even if Middlesbrough is too soon, it seems as though Reading will be a realistic target.

Cameron Jerome spoke to the media as well, suggesting that even if Nelson is fit, that Cam will probably start. I base that on his appearance in front of the cameras.

If Stiepermann is unavailable, James Husband looks set for a reunion with the club he left in the summer. Let's hope that gees him up.

Was a harsh offside call that denied him Saturday. And he should have had two assists as well.

Was it harsh ? Not my end of ground and no replay on highlights . The keeper appeared to stop ?

Regardless the goal was counted or on, Jerome will not get 20+ goals this season even if he started all games. DF comes with a new possession based style that requires a certain level of technical ability that Jerome, Naismith, and Martin are lacking sorely. If the club are to progress, then these 3 players need to move on.

Noticed how Man Utd progressed this season after getting rid of Wayne Rooney?
