The Canaries In Germany

The Canaries In Germany

After a day of excitement in Newcastle, when the Chronicle worked themselves up into a right lather over Jacob Murphy's flight plans, Norwich City have landed in Germany for their pre-season tour

The whole first team squad have gone which includes Jacob, for all you Chronicle readers, apart from Timm Klose and Alex Pritchard who inevitably have had to stay in Norfolk for medical assessment.

Both were injured in Saturday's pre-season 'friendly' at Cambridge and we should know more in the next day or two about how serious those injuries are.

The U23s are also in Germany and it's worth noting that the three trialists from last week's win at Kings Lynn, Will Wright (Hitchin Town), Adam Phillips (free agent) and Pierre Xavier Fonkeu (Club Brugge) have all travelled.

If you're a Newcastle fan reading this, I wouldn't panic too much because England is only 3 hours away by private jet ;-)

Luckily, it looks like the plan is to have genuine cover for every position to allow for injuries ( even third place youngster's) but still need guaranteed goal scorer.

Liked the confidence Farke is showing. When asked on the injuries, he said the aim is for players to last the entire season and that he has cover. Webber did his share by signing players suited to Farke's style and the Championship. Our defence suddenly looked good compared to last season spending less than 10 million pounds. Looking forward to the new season!!!

The news journalist (and Newcastle fan) who first ran the story could take a random picture of anyone (face not shown) holding an air ticket from Germany to Newcastle and post another speculative news article again.

Looks like Newcastle could be heading for relegation again if they are getting excited and pinning their hopes on a premier league untried youngster.

Yes DG. Untried or tried, good or bad, Newcastle always underperform. And their youth system seemed to be failing big time.
