Hudson On A Short List Of Five For Norwich

Hudson On A Short List Of Five For Norwich

Anthony Hudson is the surprise name being mooted as Alex Neil's successor at Carrow Road according to The Sun

Warren Haughton, who often appears on TalkSport says that Hudson, who is currently the manager of the New Zealand national side, was strongly linked with the Derby County job before the Rams re-appointed Steve McLaren last year. He reportedly turned down the MK Dons job too but The Sun think that he is keen to return to English football for the 'right job.'

Here's the interesting part, this story suggests that informal talks have already taken place between Ed Balls and Hudson's agent about the Norwich job. They also report that he is on a shortlist of five, with Roy Hodgson, Alan Pardew, Nigel Pearson and Alan Irvine - strewth, hardly inspiring.

I knew nothing about Hudson prior to reading this but I would scratch Irvine and Pearson off that list immediately.

Exactly and would Pearson be on the list either? Everything I've read suggests they don't want Pardew either. Probably nonsense...

Hudson should be good. Success at every team he's managed. Although Norwich on a different level than Bahrain and New Zealand but worth a gamble.

Hudson is an out of left field choice, but could work. I know it's wishful thinking on my part, but isn't there another more recent ex-Leicester manager that's out of work? Wouldn't mind taking a punt on him if they could get him...
