Ryan Bennett's ankle surgery has forced The Canaries to consider their options with the news that ligament damage means that Bennett is likely to miss 6-8 weeks.
The transfer window closes in less than a week with City being immediately linked with a number of players to replace him.
"Unfortunately Ryan had an operation (on Tuesday morning). It revealed a ruptured ligament in his ankle," Neil Adams said. "The operation was a success, he is fine but he will miss a few weeks with his recovery. We won`t put a timeline on it but of course if he has surgery then he is not going to be around anytime soon. They said it could have been a lot worse. It is a straightforward injury. He won`t be featuring for the coming games.'
According to Sky Italia, City are again keen on Juventus' Danish defender, Frederik Sorensen.
City were first linked with Sorensen last January when Chris Hughton was in charge and the 22 year old has been at Juve since 2010 where he has made 17 appearances. He has spent the last two seasons on loan at Bologna who are reported to also want him permanently.
Earlier in the summer, Leeds had persuaded Juventus to agree to a loan deal but the deal broke down when the player flew to England for talks - I guess he didn't like what he saw or heard.
The lad is 6'5" and can play at centre or right back. With height like that he would be perfect for the Championship.
In recent days, Norwich have also been heavily linked with a move for Club Brugge midfielder, Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe but predictably, Adams was reluctant to talk about anything until a deal is done.
"Of course what has happened with Ryan will have an impact on what we will look to do," he said. "We will be looking. We have a few irons in the fire. They may come off, they may not but I am looking to add to the squad before the window closes. If we can do business, we will do.
"I won`t comment on any transfers until they are done and dusted. What I will say is we are enquiring about players. We will go right up until the window if we can. But until there is something concrete to say I would rather leave it at that. I know speculation gets out but as and when they are done we will let everyone know."
