Villa And West Ham Join Race For Hooper

There is more speculation today surrounding the future of City striker, Gary Hooper.

According to Football League World, West Ham and Aston Villa have joined QPR in the chase for Hooper's signature.

Typically, there isn't any factual evidence in the report and I am wondering how Villa could afford him, what with their rumoured 10m budget (inc wages) for this season as Randy Lerner attempts to sell the club.

I'm sure finance wouldn't be a problem for either QPR or West Ham, with the Hammers now a striker short after Andy Carroll was ruled out for four months, yesterday.

I do think that Hooper has a lot to give in the Championship, so fingers crossed this is just Internet talk...

Always the same clubs named when our players are mentioned. God the season start can't come soon enough. I hope we have the sense to prematurely close the transfer window as we kick off.
