Striker Injuries Not Serious

Norwich City were missing both Kyle Lafferty and Lewis Grabban last night for the 13-0 rout over SC Vallee D'Aoste as both were suffering with injuries that Neil Adams describes as hopefully 'not too serious at all.'

Grabban took a knock back in England at the same time as RvW injured his knee, while Grabban felt some soreness in his Achilles and he was rested as a precaution.

Talking to canaries.co.uk after the first tour game, Adams said:

"Kyle trained on his own today and we`re hoping he`ll train with the team this week and be available for the next game,"

"With Lewis, there was a little bit of soreness in his Achilles so it was a precaution that he didn`t train or play today. Hopefully neither is too serious at all."

"I thought it was good for Pilks (Anthony Pilkington) to get the 90 minutes though, and he applied himself really well."

Having been forced into a late change of opposition, Adams is hoping that upcoming games against Serie B side, Livorno on Wednesday and then a short hop over the border to France on Friday to face Ligue 1, Bastia will provide much tougher challenges.

"With all due respect to the opposition, they didn`t really give us the test that certainly we wanted at this stage of the season," he added.

"I would have preferred a tougher work-out for the players because banging goals in is great, but we need to be tested a little bit more than we were tonight.

"The lads did a professional job, you can only beat what`s in front of you."
