Italy Squad Announced


Norwich City have named the 24 man squad that will travel to Italy today for a week's worth of training and three matches - one of which will be in France!

The big name missing from the squad is Ricky van Wolfswinkel, who apparently picked up a knock in training late in the week.

City boss Neil Adams commented: 'Ricky unfortunately took a heavy knock to his knee in training. He's had a scan last night (Thursday) and thankfully it's not a serious cartilage injury, but it is bruised to the bone and he will stay at Colney receiving treatment while we are away.'

Interestingly, there is no place for Luciano Becchio or Mark Bunn. Less surprisingly, Seb Bassong is not in the party.

I think I'm right in saying that originally the squad was meant to be 25 strong but with Ricky being unable to travel, he has not been replaced. I'm not sure when Leroy Fer is due to return but I'm guessing that he's been given an extra 2 weeks meaning he could be back next week for the home friendly games.

How much holiday does Fer need ffs???? He missed much of the season run in. He played less than 30 minutes in Brazil and spent the majority of the trip injured. He should at least be back a Colney having his fitness assessed. Not like we kick off the season in 3 weeks is it?
