Braintree Friendly Preview

Braintree Friendly Preview

Norwich City's next step on the road to Championship football is a trip to Braintree Town tonight with a 7.45pm kick off.

City managed to eventually beat their last opponents, Dereham Town on Saturday by a solitary goal from new signing, Kyle Lafferty. A friend of mine went to this match and said that the City performance wasn't up to much and you'd have to agree based on the score line alone.

Tonight sees the return of Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Martin Olsson, Mark Bunn, Anthony Pilkington and Wes Hoolahan to City's 23 man squad - but there's still no place for Sebastien Bassong who now looks likely to play with the Development side at Kings Lynn. Presumably he hasn't shown enough yet to put himself back in Neil Adams' plans. Declan Rudd, Jacob Murphy and Lucciano Becchio all drop out of the squad from Saturday and are likely to join Bassong at Kings Lynn.

Let's hope things are a bit more exciting than the Dereham match eh?

Norwich City squad for friendly vs Braintree Town:

John Ruddy (GK), Steven Whittaker, Bradley Johnson, Russell Martin (c), Michael Turner, Lewis Grabban, Jonny Howson, Kyle Lafferty, Gary Hooper, Anthony Pilkington, Mark Bunn (GK), Wes Hoolahan, Jamar Loza, Elliott Bennett, Javier Garrido, Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Josh Murphy, Nathan Redmond, Martin Olsson, Ryan Bennett, Alexander Tettey, Andrew Surman, Adel Gafaiti.
