Joseph Yobo Loan Confirmed

Joseph Yobo Loan Confirmed

Norwich City have tonight confirmed the loan signing of Fenerbache centre back, Joseph Yobo on loan until the end of the season, subject to governing body approval.

Meanwhile, Fenerbahçe have released a statement confirming that Yobo will join the Canaries until the end of the season.

The statement read: 'Joseph Yobo will join Norwich City on loan until the end of the season.

'Fenerbahçe football club would like to thank Yobo for his services to the club, his professional attitude and setting a great example to the younger members of the squad with his strong family values.

'We hope Yobo does well at Norwich City.'

The Nigerian international is back for his second stint in England and will be hoping for the chance to play to cement his position in his country's World Cup squad.
Yobo has a lot of Premier League experience having made 248 appearances for Everton over eight-seasons.

To be fair, with only two fit centre backs, we needed another. Several attempts at getting one in during the summer window failed, including Alderweireld. Now that Turner is hamstrung, another injury would leave us very vulnerable. The fact it's Yobo though is underwhelming. I would've preferred Ciani or even Scott Dann but as it's a loan, there is little risk. The fact we aren't being linked with creative players is worrying as this is what we are lacking - suggests that CH thinks there isn't a problem. Maybe Gutierrez will help once he starts playing regularly. The news about Wes' comments today are very disappointing. Yes, he's not playing and yes he's bound to be frustrated but he needs to be a lot smarter than that when talking to the media - on or off camera.

A couple of Blackpool friends of mine suggest that Wes and petulance have a long historical bond.
