Lopez, Vydra, Hooper and Barnett...
First off, we begin with with the ongoing talk about Catania striker, Maxi Lopez.
Reports in Italy state that City have offered the 29 year old a 3 year deal and that a £3.5m offer has been accepted by the Serie A side.
Whether the player wants a move to the Premier League is unknown but he is a name that has been around for the last couple of weeks, so it seems there may be something in our interest.
An interesting name has been thrown up today in the shape of Udinese striker, Matej Vydra. The 21 year old Czech striker spent last season on loan at Watford and scored 20 Championship goals in 41 appearances as Watford made it to the play off final.
It seems though that his agent has been talking up a move to West Ham after Talk Sport today linked both City and Southampton to him.
His agent, Ondrej Chovanec said:
'West Ham are a very good club and Vydra would fit there very well,' Chovanec told The Daily Mail.
'They have Andy Carroll and Vydra played very well with a big striker last season, Troy Deeney.
'I have spoken to West Ham but not for two weeks now, the ball is in their court.'
Then we come to the saga, and it is a saga, surrounding Celtic's Gary Hooper. Neil Lennon seems resigned to losing his man but still hopes Hooper will stay if terms cannot be agreed with one of the two prospective clubs that are chasing him.
QPR and their fans seem almost as cheesed off with the length of this transfer as we are, but it does strike me as odd that they seem to be struggling to agree terms with the lad after having a bid accepted.
I've read several snippets that suggest that Hooper wants Premier League football and that he wants a move to Norwich and that QPR is a back up plan. This deal is supposed to be in it's end stages now but who will he sign for? With our current lack of support for RVW I would take him, so if we are indeed the second club mentioned, let's get it done eh?
And finally we have news of a move for Leon Barnett. Leon, it is reported would prefer a move to stay in the Premier League but is seems that Doncaster Rovers have bid £1m for him (which is probably a fair price).
Rovers have big ambitions and it is reported that Barnett has met club officials and is mulling over a deal. I am slightly surprised that one of the three promoted clubs don't fancy him, particularly Cardiff, but a deal seems close.
