Hughton Outlines His Plans
Norwich City manager Chris Hughton finally gave the City faithful something to sing about as he unveiled record signing Ricky Van Wolfswinkel at a press conference today but fell short of announcing any more signings.
Whilst the rumour mill goes into overdrive surrounding other players to potentially be pulling on the yellow and green in the next few weeks the fans will have to remain patient for some concrete news.
However, Hughton confirmed that there has been interest shown in Nathan Redmond and Ola Toivonen. Regarding Redmond, the EDP, have reported Hughton as saying: 'He is a player we are very, very interested in. I can say that much.
"I suppose the association is a natural one with him because he was a player I had at Birmingham but certainly right now we are not able to say anything until there is something that is sure and confirmed but, yes, he is a player we have an interest in."
With respects to Toivonen, Hughton went on to say: "He is a player we have shown interest in. But I have to say he is one of a few," he said. "Some of the reports that you will hear will have a little bit of substance to them, some are far off the mark but you learn in this game that until there is a done deal not to take anything for granted. But in general terms we are working very hard. In an ideal world you would like to do your business as soon as possible. The problem is it is getting more and more difficult for that to happen."
One of a few eh? Sounds like the associated press did not push on the Hooper rumours...
RVW has been incredibly positive about Norwich City via Twitter, calling Norwich his 'home' and he continued the positive trend at the press conference saying: 'My first impression of Norwich was that it`s a great city and a team that has a great set of fans.
"I`m glad to be here and can`t wait to get started. This is the perfect move for me.' the EDP reports.
What a man!
Happy RVW day everybody
