Transfer Tales: Crofts to Wolves?

Transfer Tales: Crofts to Wolves?

The transfer window opens in a little over a fortnight, which means it is very nearly our favourite time of year - crazy rumour time, hoorah!!

So far we`ve pretty much ignored any and all transfer speculation involving the Pride of Anglia on this site, but a little titbit in the Sun caught our attention this morning whilst enjoying a cinnamon bagel with butter and a nice cup of tea (white no sugar, since you asked). They reckon Wolves want Andrew Crofts. Wolves!

He`d cost Mick McCarthy somewhere in the region of £2m according to the paper, which seems pretty cheap assuming the club wanted to sell the Welshman in the first place, which I very much doubt they do.

Wolves are one of those sides Lambert and co will be extremely keen to stay above in the Premier League, and although Crofts hasn`t been as regular a fixture in the City side as he was last season, you`d have to think it highly unlikely that Lambert would allow him to leave at all, let alone to a club we are likely to be scrapping away with come April.

What do you think?

It would be a retrograde step for Crofts; he would prefer to stay here. Without wanting to partake in a slanging match as some other sites seem to delight in, johnwolf will learn new respect for our club.

Andrew Crofts has been a League 1 player for the bulk of his career. He joined Norwich and became a Premiership player. Now, apparently, another premiership club is interested in acquiring him. He's coming up to 28. A transfer at this time could well represent his last chance to a decent payday. He's not currently a 1st Team regular. £2M sounds about right - even a bit generous? That's more than just about every member of our 1st Team squad cost. Could be a good bit of business all round?

probally the same tw*t who had ago at the junior canary bus a few seasons back. Why would crofts want to join a team that will be getting relegated at the end of the season? Stay with Norwich the bigger club.
