Hughes has contract terminated

City midfielder Stephen Hughes has had his contract terminated by mutual consent.

Hughes joined the club on a free transfer in the summer of 2009 after his Motherwell contract had expired, and made 34 appearances during the League One title-winning campaign (20 from the bench).

He only made two first team appearances last year in a season blighted by injury, and in February was sent on loan to MK Dons - but returned to the club after again getting injured.
