City fans want Manchester United

City fans want Manchester United

In our most recent site poll we asked who were hoping the Canaries would face on the opening day of the 2011/12 season.

28% of you are hoping to face the champions Manchester United in the first game, ahead of Liverpool (12%), Arsenal (10%) and Championship winners QPR (7%).

The Barclays Premier League fixtures are released tomorrow morning at 9am and but you won't see them published in full here - or on many other websites come to think of it - no sir.

That's because of a rule that states third parties such as newspapers and websites such as this one must pay for a licence to reproduce certain intellectual property including, you guessed it, fixture lists.

You may think it a bit odd/unfair/silly/stupid that we are not allowed to promote the games we all pay through the nose to go and watch but them's the rules, so as we don't pay for the licence we won't be publishing on the site.

The fixtures will obviously be published in full on the club's official site and on the Pinkun, but don't worry we're have an exclusive or two up our sleeves.

Who do you want on the first day of the season?

Manchester Utd 28%
Liverpool 12%
Arsenal 10%
QPR 7%
Swansea 5%
Chelsea 5%
Everton 5%
Fulham 5%
Aston Villa 5%
Sunderland 3%
West Brom 3%
Tottenham 3%
Manchester City 1%
Other 8%

And luckily it wasn't to be. But on the thought of man ewe i wonder if ferguson will be so keen on 8 minutes added time when he considers the canaries reputation for the late late show.
