'If It's Football, It's Vital'

What does the future hold for Andrew Crofts?

With the Canary's proud promotion to the Premier League now confirmed, all eyes are understandably starting to focus on what happens next.

Inevitably this means that some of the heroes who fought so hard to book a place at the top-table of English football may not get the opportunity to prove themselves there.

A few are out of contract, some will get the chance to rub shoulders with Rooney and co, but several will be deemed surplus to requirements and will be plying their trade elsewhere.

So with that in mind (and not at all ripping off a series of articles on Vital Pompey) we decided to flick through the City squad to see who we think fits into each category...

League & Cup apps (as a sub): 44 (0)
Goals: 8

A former captain at Gillingham and Brighton, few had heard much about Andrew Crofts when he arrived last summer from the Withdean for an undisclosed fee, but few players contributed more to the Norwich City cause en route to the Premier League.

As well as being named Vital Norwich Player of the Month for August, September and February only Russell Martin (49), Grant Holt (48) and John Ruddy (46) played more games than the Welshman this season.

He scored one of the goals of the season at Barnsley, and his total of 8 goals in all competitions was the fourth highest at the club.

Entering the final year of his contract, Crofts will be desperate to make his mark on the Premier League and barring some pretty impressive signings he should get the opportunity to do just that.

a player who gives 110% every match. There`s not many better midfielders than crofts. Better than Lampard easily.
ratpack
He will play in premier and avoid yellows and reds but still be tough
