Paul Lambert said a good old-fashioned rollocking did the trick at the Withdean Stadium as the Canaries came from a goal down to beat struggling Brighton 2-1.
Grant Holt equalised with ten minutes to play, and three minutes later Gary Doherty powerfully headed home Darel Russell's free-kick to send City four points clear at the top of the table, and speaking to canaries.co.uk after the game the City boss said:
'In the first half I think the game looked a bit too easy for us, we had a lot of the ball without really penetrating. Then we got caught on the free-kick which makes it even harder.
'What is said in the dressing room stays there but I thought the lads came out and responded brilliantly with a big, big effort and I'm delighted.'
Brighton manager Gus Poyet couldn't hide his frustration after seeing his side concede two late goals.
'Games last 90, or in today's case 95 minutes. We had two great chances for Glenn, both were cleared off the line, but at 1-0 I thought we looked in control,' he told seagulls.co.uk after the game.
'It was after it went 1-1, I felt the sucker punch was coming, and I felt that because I know the players were thinking the same.
'If the opposition put the ball in from 40 yards, that is the easiest ball to defend against. We were not good enough at defending, I won't point to one player but as a team we didn't make a good decision and that happens.
'We need that extra quality when making decisions during the game. In the last ten minutes we didn't make too many good decisions.'
The result leaves Brighton 21st in the League One table with 30 points from as many games.
